We search for IRC Viruses on the Network with Secureserv. Most IRC Viruses are not as highly evolved than the real viruses you know. Most of them are hoping to find a user who is stupid enough to run that via Private Message given code to help the Virus Spread. An Eexample of such a Virus could be: "We just hacked OP Status here, just type /decode(some or much numbers and chars here) | /run newscript.mrc"

Secureserv searches for these Viruses and removes them from the Network. But it does not do this itself; it uses Bots with different names to ensure that those scripts do not simply exclude Secureserv from their messages. We change the Botnames from time to time too. These Bots can and will join every channel at the network, regardless of the Modes set. They will join, stay a while, and leave.

If you're unsure who's the user who just joined your "Super Secret, password protected, invite only Channel," feel free to ask an IRC Operator.
